Singapore, 30 June 2020 – The Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME) welcomes the next generation
of leadership at the Singapore Business Federation (SBF). Having served as SBF’s Chairman for the last six years, Mr
S. S. Teo has stepped down in his role, and is succeeded by Mr Lim Ming Yan.
ASME thanks Mr S. S. Teo for his years of service and dedication in leading SBF and the larger business community in Singapore. During Mr Teo’s term as the Chairman of SBF, the business community greatly benefitted from his invaluable and selfless leadership. Increased engagement was achieved with the Government, allowing for a better bridge of the gap between policy makers and the business community. As a proponent of transformation, internationalisation and sustainable businesses, he pushed for new and improved initiatives to better equip enterprises with the capabilities to survive in a competitive and challenging economy. Under his leadership, SBF also helped to connect Singapore businesses with opportunities brought about by China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
ASME also offers its warmest congratulations to Mr Lim Ming Yan, Chairman of Workforce Singapore, as the next Chairman of SBF. ASME looks forward to SBF’s continued collaboration with the Government, unions, TACs, and business leaders in addressing pressing business and economic challenges. SBF’s commitment to transforming the business landscape and support for business leaders also brings great confidence and high hopes about what is to come on the horizon, and ASME is eager to strengthen its partnership with SBF to help more SMEs develop stronger capabilities, go global and be future-ready.
