1. Who are the members of ASME?
Targeted at the small and medium local enterprises, our members comprise of business owners and senior management staff of our local SMEs. There are also MNCs holding the Associate membership.

2. What are the differences between the Corporate and Individual Membership?
Corporate
The Corporate Membership requires companies to:
1. Have total fixed assets not exceeding S$30 million in value, excluding land and building
2. Have less than 300 employees
3. Have at least 30% local equity
4. Not be a listed company

There are currently two types of corporate memberships available – Platinum Corporate Membership and Corporate Membership. Corporate Memberships entitle up to 3 applicants to enjoy benefits provided by ASME in collaboration with participating merchants.

Individual
The Individual Membership is open to all individuals above 21 years old that are currently employed in any registered or incorporated businesses in Singapore. Likewise, there are also two individual memberships available - Platinum Individual Membership and Individual Membership. Both membership types entitle only 1 applicant to enjoy benefits provided by ASME in collaboration with participating merchants.

3. Is the Platinum Membership Card issued transferable?
The Platinum Membership Card is non-transferable. Please be reminded that a $30 reinstatement/change fee will be charged for membership ceased and reactivated, for memberships put on hold for any period of time, or for other administrative changes made on the card or replacement of loss cards.

4. Can companies that are not qualified for Corporate Membership join ASME as members?
Companies that are not qualified for the Corporate Membership could join ASME as Associate Members. You can download the application form for Associate Membership here.

5. How do I go about joining ASME as a member?
To obtain the membership Application Form, you can:

  • Download the application form online and email the completed form with the necessary documentary support to: mr.secretariat@asme.org.sg
  • Drop us a call at 6513 0388 and we will email the Application Form to you.

6. How long is my membership valid?
The ASME membership is valid for 1 year, starting from the month you join or renew.

7. Are the membership fees paid annually or a one-time payment?
Membership fees are paid annually. You will receive a reminder two months before your membership expires. To renew your membership, simply complete the reminder form and send in the renewal fees.

8. How do I make the payment for the membership?
Payment may be made by cheque made payable to ASME. Please attach the cheque to the competed application form, business profile and name cards of applicants, and mail them to:

Please allow up to 3 working days before your membership becomes active upon receipt of payment.

9. When I send in my application for membership, how long will it take for me to receive my membership materials?
Upon receipt of your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email from the Member Relations Secretariat. We will require 5 working days to process your application.

Once your membership has been approved, you can expect to receive a notification email confirming your membership status from the Member Relations Secretariat. Only Platinum Members will expect to receive a Welcome Kit via mail.

10. What is a Welcome Kit?
All Platinum Members will expect to receive a Welcome Kit via mail and it will include the following:

  • Welcome Letter
  • Personalised Platinum Membership Card
  • Details of your unique User ID and Password for access to http://platinumbenefits.asme.org.sg where you can view the full range of your exclusive membership benefits.

11. I have a change in particulars. How do I make sure you have my updated contact information?
You can change your contact information on the website. You can log in to the portal from the "Member Login" menu on the right of the webpage. You will need your email address and password for the log in.

If you do not know your password, select "Forgot your password?" and enter your email address to retrieve your password. Alternatively, you can contact the Member Relations Secretariat at: mr.secretariat@asme.org.sg to request for a reset of password.

12. How should I cancel, suspend, or change my membership?
We require 30 days advance notice in writing to cancel or change a membership. Notice for a change or cancellation must be given by the first of any month in order to apply for the following month.

To give notice, simply send an e-mail to mr.secretariat@asme.org.sg indicating your wish to cancel or change your membership, or write to:
