  GRANTS
   
 

1. Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Programme (CITREP)
This is a training grant to put infocomm and key non-infocomm professionals through approved courses in critical, emerging and specialised infocomm technologies.

2. Entrepreneurship Training for PMETs
The courses offered by participating polytechnics will help Professionals, Managers, Executives & Technicians (PMETs) acquire the basic skills of running a business so that they can effectively leverage on their knowledge, resources and networks to start a successful business.
SPRING Singapore will support up to 50% of the course fees. Fees will range between $290 - $525, excl GST (after subsidy) for Singaporeans and PRs.


3. First Mover Advantage
If you have an innovative idea that involves the use of government assets such as state land, buildings and public parks, you can gain a First Mover Advantage. The scheme is open to everyone, including Singapore citizens, permanent residents, foreigners, SMEs, MNCs and foreign businesses. Where's the funding element? Well, you'll gain an "allocation advantage" - the public asset is allocated to you on favourable terms. For instance, you don't have to tender against others to use the asset for a fixed trial period. You'll also gain a "price advantage" - you get to use the public assets at below market rates.

4. Intellectual Property Management (IPM)
SMEs can tap on this fund to develop a strategy to create, own, protect and exploit their IP. The grant can be used to subsidise the cost of IP consultancy projects (up to 70% of consultancy fees) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your IP strategy and systems using a tool known as SCOPE IPTM, and IP implementation projects (up to 70% of costs associated with manpower, equipment, materials, consultants and IP rights) to improve your IP strategy and systems based on the strengths and weaknesses identified.

5. International Business Fellowship (IBF)
Get a grant to defray the costs of training a potential employee or sending your executives for business-related training/ attachment in Asia.

6. Internationalisation Road-mapping Programme (IRP)
If you're expanding overseas, you can get a maximum grant of 70% of the fees spent on hiring consultants to develop strategic internationalisation plans and roadmaps for your expansion.

7. Local Industry Upgrading Programme (LIUP)
For local businesses that are providing products or services to MNCs, the programme allows them to get the latter to transfer their technology know-how and HR expertise to them. EDB will subsidise part of the salary of a manager sent by the MNC to work in the local business. LIUP support lasts for a year, and can be renewed on a case-by-case basis. Typically, MNC partners choose which local suppliers to work with in consultation with EDB. Interested parties should contact EDB to let the Board know that they are keen on L1UP. Alternatively, they could discuss LIUP with their MNC partner to put in an application to EDB.

8. Malaysia Singapore Third Country Business Development Fund (MSBF)
If you have a strategic partner in Malaysia, both of you could tap on this fund to pay for feasibility studies and joint missions to third countries. Industries supported by the MSBF are manufacturing, tourism, infrastructure development, construction, information technology, trading and services. You can get up to RM200,000 to investigate the business viability of a specific project, up to RM100,000 to conduct a general search for potential investments or business opportunities in a specific market, and up to RM200,000 to participate in approved joint missions.

9. Pro-Family Business Grant (PFB)
Businesses who target families as customers can obtain a grant of up to S$20,000 to make their businesses, products and services family-friendly and to attain the PFB Mark. The grant can be used to fund up to 50% of costs such as business consultancy fees, infrastructure costs, training and development fees and implementation costs.

10. Risk Management Assistance Fund (RMAF)
Get up to $3,500 to subsidise the cost of hiring approved risk consultants to help you set-up a risk assessment system to minimise workplace risks and comply with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Workplace Safety and Health (Risk Management) regulations.

11. SME Management Action for Results (SMART) Initiative
SMART is an initiative aimed at driving SME business excellence using SPRING Singapore's Business Excellence framework, which is designed to ensure systematic and continuous growth of SMEs. Your business can participate in two phases:

• The roadmap phase, where a consultant reviews and identifies the gaps in your management systems and processes, then draws up a roadmap to address these gaps.

• The implementation phase, where you either go it alone, or engage the help of the consultant. Phase 1 funding is capped at 50% of the standard S$5,000 consultancy fee. Phase 2 funding is limited to 50% of costs of implementation which include manpower, consultancy fees, equipment, materials and intellectual property rights.

12. Skills Redevelopment Programme (SRP)
SRP is a national funding programme that incentivise employers to send their employees for certifiable training. You can choose from more than 1,300 courses in 36 disciplines.

13. Training Assistance Scheme (TAS)
Tap on the TAS grant for your company's general training and development needs. Training can be conducted by external parties or in-house.

14. Work-Life Works! (WoW!) Fund
Organisations with at least five employees can tap on the grant to improve work-life balance for the workforce. The WOW! Fund co-funds up to 80% of your work-life project, capped at SS10,000 per company.

15. Workplace Health & Sports Promotion (WHSP)
Organisations with at least 30 employees can get up to S$10,000 to create health and sports programmes for their employees, on a dollar-for-dollar matching basis, of up to S$5,ooo for health programmes such as smoking cessation and disease management, and up to S$5,000 for sports programmes. Those who garner awards at The Singapore Health Award will gain additional two rounds of funding for each award won.
