Together with PurpleClick Media, the Young Business Leaders (YBL), is spearheading a new initiative called ‘Singapore Welcomes the World 2010’ to support the nation’s hosting of the upcoming international events. In the bid to support this initiative, PurpleClick Media created a micro site www.purpleclick.com/ybl/wtw.html to complement the second component of the initiative, ‘Let’s Do it Together’, for companies to creatively incorporate the ‘Singapore Welcomes the World 2010’ tagline in their marketing and PR efforts. The media exclusive to unveil the micro site was held in PurpleClick’s office along Outram Road and was graced by Mr. Teo Ser Luck and 4 other YBL members. The first component is ‘The Pledge’, where businesses, beginning with YBL members, commit to support and welcome international events held in Singapore. Mr Teo Ser Luck, Chairman of the National Youth Council affirmed the YBL’s effort, “Singapore has been under the spotlight as we are hosting several high profile international events in the upcoming months. Through this initiative, businesses can collectively impact the community by fostering a sense of graciousness and bond amongst the Singaporeans to welcome our international guests. It is a creative concept by the YBL as part of their commitment to promote social causes and to encourage corporate social responsibility.” Companies interested to pledge their support to this initiative can create a customised logo badge on the micro site and use it for their own marketing initiatives, such as their website, brochure, merchandise or decoration on their shop front. “The digital cyberspace is a perfect medium to spread messages to an infinite population and being in this business gives us the privilege to promote this initiative,” said Mr Leonard Tan, Chief Executive Officer of PurpleClick Media Pte Ltd. The micro site created by PurpleClick Media also aims to provide information to the public on YBL, an initiative formed under the Youth Network (YN) Committee of the National Youth Council, to encourage sharing and collaboration between young entrepreneurs, and business and corporate leaders, and promote entrepreneurship and corporate leadership. Please refer to Annex A for the list of YBL Members who have pledged their support to the initiative. More details on YBL can be found in Annex B.
