ASME APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME) announced today that Mr Roland Chan will be the Association’s new Executive Director.

Mr Chan will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for ASME’s Secretariat, initiatives and programmes, executing them in line with the Association’s commitment to be the business association For Entrepreneurs, By Entrepreneurs. He will also be committed to delivering value to ASME’s membership as well as to the SME community at large.

Mr Chan has spent more than 22 years in the financial industry and has helmed successful local and foreign-owned insurance operations.  Subsequent to that, Mr Chan spent a further 13 years handling corporate and strategy issues at senior management levels in companies listed on both the Mainboard and Catalist board of the Singapore Stock Exchange.

On the new appointment, Mr Kurt Wee, President of ASME, said, With his vast experience in management across his various capacities, I am confident that Roland will be able to be in tune with the pulse of our local SMEs and guide ASME’s activities to deliver even greater benefit for our members and the business community.
